"Manila" is an early-season mango, flowering in January and February. Because "Manila" blooms in the winter, it should be protected from the cold. If it is exposed to temperatures below 40 degrees Fahrenheit, the buds and blossoms may be damaged, reducing the harvest. Plant your mango tree in a wind-sheltered, full-sun location where it is protected from frost or in a large container so you can move it into a warm, well-lit sunroom or greenhouse for the winter.
